Description
We are looking for a junior developer to help maintain and grow our primary web application using the Ruby on Rails framework. Your primary focus will be maintaining the codebase and to ensure overall a consistent and high performance user experience. You will coordinate with other team members, including other developers, UX/UI designers, and customer success experts. Your commitment to team collaboration, direct and open communication, and a quality product is crucial.

Responsibilities
A day in the life of the Junior Developer includes but is not limited to the following activities and responsibilities:
- Coordinating with other team members, including back-end developers, UX/UI designers, and customer success experts
- Identifying and fixing bugs and other issues impacting the user experience
- Building modular and reusable components and libraries
- Optimizing applications for high performance
- Implementing automated testing integrated into development and maintenance workflows
- Staying up-to-date with all recent developments with the Ruby on Rails framework
- Keeping an eye on security updates and issues found with Ruby on Rails framework and all project dependencies
- Proposing any upgrades and updates necessary for keeping up with modern security and development best practices
Qualifications
In order to be successful in this role, the Junior Developer will need to embody the following characteristics:
- 2+ years experience developing using the Ruby on Rails framework
- Excellent mastery of HTML5 and CSS3
- Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases
- Knowledge of functional programming and object-oriented programming paradigms
- Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean Ruby on Rails code
- Proficiency with Git
